From November 10th to 12th, 2009, Brazil and Rio de Janeiro will be
transformed into a great forum for the discussion of the healthcare future paths
in the world, through the accomplishment of IHF Rio 2009, the world congress of
the International Hospital Federation which, for the first time in its history,
will be held in a Latin American country.
We are forecasting the participation of around two thousand congress attendees,
representing more than 100 countries of all continents, who will have the unique
opportunity of exchanging experiences and opinions during an intense and productive
networking event.
Focused in the central theme “Health in the Era of Knowledge”,
IHF Rio 2009 will be subdivided into many sub-themes, which will bring to debate
very relevant subjects, such as: qualification programs and accreditation of healthcare
services organizations; humanization of services and attendance to the patient;
key performance indicators; information technology in healthcare environments;
engineering, architecture and modernization of hospital buildings; corporate governance
and public-private relations in the sector, among others.
In addition to the scientific program, there will be an international fair of
products, equipment and services, where the exhibiting companies will be able
to show their latest launches, trends and solutions of the healthcare sector.
For all these reasons, we invite all those who act in the productive healthcare
chain in Brazil and in the world, to participate in the IHF Rio 2009. I believe
we have a lot to contribute to the development and promotion of the positive actions
that Brazil has been implementing in this area, which have vital importance to
the whole society and the entire world.
More than never, time has come for Brazil to prove that with work, union and
competence it is possible to overcome any adversity and to be inserted into the
world scenario of health. And it is exactly with this spirit that we will unite
for the accomplishment of IHF 2009.
Be most welcome!
Dr. José Carlos de Souza Abrahão
