President of the National Health Confederation (CNS) and already acting as the
elected President of the International Hospital Federation (IHF), José
Carlos Abrahão, M.D., participated in the meeting held on May 15th and
16th in the head office of the entity, located in the French town Ferney-Voltaire,
at the border with Geneva. The meeting discussed relevant issues to the world
health and also the promotion of the first world congress in Latin America, the
IHF Rio 2009, which will be held from November 10th to 12th, 2009, in Rio de Janeiro.
José Carlos Abrahão, M.D., presented the theme list of the congress,
focused on “Healthcare in the Knowledge Era”. On that occasion, the
contract between CNS and IHF, which makes official the promotion of the event,
was signed. “The members of the board were very receptive and enthusiastic
about what was presented. It will be the first time that a Latin American country
will host an IHF event, what is very relevant, considering the strategic importance
of this market for the whole healthcare sector”.
International Vice-President
Dr. Abrahão has also been to the head office of the French Hospitals Federation,
in Paris, where he met the President of the entity and the former President of
IHF, Gérard Vincent, whom he invited to be the International Vice-President
of the Congress. The invitation was immediately accepted and the Brazilian and
French directors took the opportunity to discuss possible cooperation agreements
aiming at improving the healthcare systems of both countries. |
